The Retail Merchants Association offers meeting rooms at no cost to members for staff training. Guidelines for use of the Meeting Facilities are:
- Meeting rooms hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Room reservations are confirmed with Ms. Clementine Futrell, Meeting Facilities Manager and Receptionist at 804-662-5500. 48 hour or greater advance notice is appreciated. All food and beverage needs are the members’ responsibility. RMA can provide a list of member caterers who may be used at the members’ expense.
- RMA appreciates members placing all trash in the receptacles provided in each room.
- Wireless Internet (WiFi) is available in most meeting rooms for online presentations. Members are also welcome to visit during business hours and check their e-mail, etc. using their personal laptop wireless connection.
- Audio-visual equipment is available at no charge and should be reserved in advance:
- Projection screen
- Flip charts and marking pens
- TV/VCR
- Pens and writing pads
- LCD projector
- Telephone line for member’s dial-up Internet
- If additional equipment is needed, outside vendor/member contact information is available.
- Courtesy telephones for local calls only are located on the wall near the Chesterfield Room entrance and on the hallway wall outside of the Henrico Room (second floor).
- Smoking is not permitted inside the RMA building or at the parking lot and Monument Avenue entrances. Smoking is permitted only at the loading dock located at the east entrance. Containers are provided for cigarette waste.
- Copier and fax machines are for the Association’s daily operations. RMA is pleased to assist in an emergency; however, members should not plan to make copies and send/receive faxes on a regular basis.
The meeting facilities are for the use of RMA members, Board of Directors and Committee meetings, etc. They are not available to non-members or to civic or business organizations. Since the meeting facilities are in such great demand, we cannot permit meetings to be scheduled on a regular basis (i.e., weekly or monthly). The RMA is pleased to accommodate members for special meetings, training, etc., based on availability. In the event of inclement weather, please contact 804-334-2839 to be sure that the RMA building is open.
