events October 21, 2009Loss Prevention & Security for Small BusinessTuesday, October 27Shoplifters in Action: How They Do What They Do—and What You May Be Missing…a ‘boost” is not always a good thing...Holidays mean: More inventory, More shoppers, More sales and MORE SHOPLIFTING! At this workshop, learn how to protect your inventory from theft and what to do when someone does steal from you. Troy Wheeler, Southern States Cooperative’s Regional Loss Prevention Manager will show actual video and slides of shoplifters in action. He’ll illustrate how they get the merchandise out of your store without your knowing, and what tools they use to avoid detection. Mr. Wheeler will also provide a power point presentation on how to recognize shoplifters, including what you need to know when detaining and how to prepare for prosecuting shoplifters. Troy Wheeler has been in his current position since 2007. Previously, he has served as a Crime Scene Investigator, Regional Investigator for Target Corp. in Law Enforcement for Orange Town Police as well as the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office. He has received numerous awards, merit citations and certificates of appreciation from local and state law enforcement agencies in MD, VA and DC, as well as the State Police, FBI and US Secret Service.

He has worked in institutions like Hinduja Hospital , Bombay Hospital , Saifee Hospital , Tata Memorial etc. Presently, he is heading our Nuclear Medicine Department and Thyroid clinic at Riddhivinayak Cardiac and Critical Centre, Malad (W). The only portals of entry are the nostrils and mouth/throat. In a global epidemic of this nature, it's almost impossible to avoid coming into contact with H1N1 in spite of all precautions. Contact with H1N1 is not so much of a problem as proliferation is.
